Critisism of American Society. Goals
Ripley did not believe in the traditional empirical, American views on religion. He encouraged the new ideas coming from Europe. His ultimate goal was shown in his plans for Brooks Farms. Here Americans would work on a small farm and attend schooling where they could learn their desired indrusty.
Brook Farm. He wanted to bridge the gap between manual labor and intullectuals. THis would result in peaceful and productive communities where people could contribute with their unique talents in several ways.

Methods to improve american life
Ripley eventually started this Farm with the help of his wife Sophia Dana. He wrote the Brook Farm Institute of Education and Agriculture. His most important contribution to America was his leadership in Transcendentalism. The first meeting was held in his home in 1836.

Sucess in Promoting Reform
While the Brook Farm took off he created the Harbinger which was a periodical dedicated to the Associatioist theroy. Social reform became centered around Brook farm. THe farm eventually failed due to a large fire. This lead Ripley to devote his life to literary projects. He is well known for his colums in the New York tribune as a critic. Nathaniel Hawthorne's Blihedale Romance added to the fame.

Practicality
The beliefs of Geoorge Ripley were not extremley popular during his time. However Americans seemed to grow into the idea and it increased in popularity. The Brook Farm attracted many Americans. The farm was majorly important during the trancendenatial transformation.

How The Federal government can help
The federal govenment should support his cause. With their support in money, land and public opions the Farm can grow large and properous and many people can enjoy his views on Transcendentalism.

Amos Brownson Alcott- He was a major figure in the movement in Transcendentalism. He contributed in ways of literature, philosophy, and religion writing for the Dial as did Ripley.
John Sullivan Dwight- He was a friend of George Ripley. He became the countries first classical music critic, a critic like was Ripley. Ripley had been his minister at Purchase street in Boston.
